Level 2 Door Supervisor training
From 1 April 2021 onwards, the SIA will introduce new licence–linked qualifications. These have been introduced to ensure professionals within the private security industry have a stronger skill set required for the role. This includes the ability to manage potential risks and changes caused by new technology.
Top-up training will be additional training to ensure current Door Supervisor
are updated to 2021.
Course features
This course consists of 3 Units.
Unit 1 – Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry. This unit is completed by online ACT training, and this must be completed before the course
Unit 2 – Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor. Pre course reading will be sent to you and a workbook which will be completed in during the course. This unit is assessed by a multiple choice examination of 5 questions, of which you must achieve a minimum mark of 3.
Unit 3 – Application of Physical intervention in the Private Security Industry – 13 contact hours. The unit is assessed by a multiple choice exam of 30 questions, of which you must achieve a minimum of .

What Kind of Jobs Can I Get as a Door Supervisor?
Any business selling alcohol, including small pubs, retailers, large nightclubs, cafes, restaurants, hotels, and sports facilities needs trained security staff qualified as door supervisors who hold an SIA licence.

Do I Need a First Aid Certificate to Enrol in This Training?
If you are taking Door Supervision or Security Officer training, you will need to show that you hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is an SIA requirement that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid. This certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the security course start date.
