EFAW vs. FAW: What's the difference?
This 3-day FAW course covers everything in the 1-day EFAW course, plus in-depth topics like fractures, medical emergencies (stroke, diabetes), and head injuries.
For the SIA Door Supervisor course, only the 1-day EFAW is required.
Who Should Attend?
- Appointed first aiders in high-risk environments (construction, manufacturing, logistics).
- Workplaces with a large number of employees.
- Anyone wanting a deep and comprehensive first aid knowledge.
Comprehensive Content
This course covers all topics from the 1-Day EFAW, PLUS:
- Managing fractures, sprains, and strains
- Dealing with dislocations and soft tissue injuries
- Recognising and treating head, spinal, and eye injuries
- Managing concussion and skull fractures
- Medical emergencies: heart attack, stroke, asthma
- Handling diabetes, epilepsy, and anaphylaxis
- Dealing with poisoning and exposure
- Treating minor injuries (cuts, splinters, nosebleeds)
Assessment & Certification
Assessment includes continuous practical observation by the trainer and multiple-choice theory tests. Successful delegates receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) certificate, valid for 3 years.
