Entry Requirements
You must meet these criteria before starting the course.
- Mandatory First Aid: You MUST provide proof of a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate (or equivalent) before you can be registered for this course.
- Age: Must be 18 or over.
- Identification: Must have a valid ID (e.g., passport, driving licence).
- Language: Must have good proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
- Right to Work: Must have the right to work in the UK.

- Search procedures (body, bag) - legal and safe conduct
- Powers of arrest (Citizen's Arrest)
- Drug awareness and substance misuse policies
- Incident reporting and crime scene preservation
- Licensing law, queue management, and venue capacity
- Handling vulnerable persons and safeguarding
- Principles of conflict: triggers, escalation, and de-escalation
- Assessing risk in conflict situations
- Communication techniques (verbal and non-verbal)
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving
- Introduction to physical intervention and legal principles
- Understanding lawful use of force (proportionality, necessity)
- Reducing risk and minimizing harm
- Practical techniques: non-pain compliant holds, escorts, and control
- Practical drills and scenario-based training
